ModelsPositioning
Two crowds,
one market.
Positioning Divergence tracks how exposure is shifting between large and small participants — the change in the gap, not just the size of it.
Everyone looks long.
One market, two groups of participants
What it
actually reads.
- Wallet-level positionsExposure held, by size of participant
- Position changesWhich direction each group is moving
- Market contextWhat the price did while they moved

What it will
not tell you.
- 01Large does not mean informed. The cohorts are sized by position, not by outcome.
- 02It reports the change in the gap, not a target for it.
- 03It sees the venues where positions are observable, which is not every venue.

About this
model.
Does a large wallet know something?
The model does not assume so, and nothing in the reading says so. Cohorts are split by the size of the position, which is a measurable fact; whether size implies skill is a claim we would have to demonstrate, and have not.
Why the change rather than the level?
A market where the two groups have sat in different places for a year is not telling you anything new today. The moment the gap starts opening is the part with information in it, and that is what the model reports.
Which markets have the cohorts?
The ones where positions are observable per participant. Coverage comes back with the reading, so a market without it is marked rather than filled in with an estimate.

One question.
One answer.
With what it read, when it read it, and what it will not claim.
